Hi All
Please if anyone can help me out as I have a situation here,I am on Tier 2 ICT short term staff visa till march and my wife joined me here on visitor visa for 6 months and she is 11 weeks pregnant. So my queries are following:
1.Is she eligible for free treatment?
2. If not ,what will be the costs (minimum) of ultrasonography and where should I go?
3.Is there some way I can register her with my NHS form as I am eligble for free NHS?
what do you suggest is the best way to go forward so that she can avail the treatment and the costs should not be that higher.

As your wife is on a visitors visa she can not access NHS treatment. Your immigration status is of no consequence.
There are numerous private doctots and hospitals in the UK so depending on where you are will dictate your choices.
Costs - if your are going down the private route the costs per treatment / consultation will vary from supplier to supplier. An ultrasound scan will be in the region of £200 to £300 with consultation but there are clinics in London that offer basic scan from as little as £125.
I am assuming your wife will be returning home before your return?

Thanks for the reply.
Yes she will be returning home before her delivery ,I am currently in Manchester so are there any clinics where I can take her?
She can have any local medical insurance through which the treatment can be free?

The above will give you one option for a scan.
No medical insurance will cover pre existing conditions.
Try your local NHS to see if they offer private health treatment, if they do you will find their costs are usually cheaper.

NHS registration is normally done through local GP centre.
Timescale will vary but expect two weeks to get NHS number. You don't need to register to access private care from NHS.

Hi All
I am on ICT short term staff and one of the companies is willing to sponsor me ,its not a A rated sponsor but a small company.....my queries are:
1.How I can switch job? will i have to return back and serve the cooing period of 12 months or can I come back on Tie 2 General?
2.What are the Tier 2 general visa requirements.
2.What does employer has to do as he is also new in terms of consulting.

YES. 12 months cooling off is required. This period starts the day you leave the UK.
2.What are the Tier 2 general visa requirements.
The job will require a resident labour market test, unless it is in the shortage occupations list. You will need to meet the salary guidelines. Start by reading the UKVI website and get back with more specific questions... too vague a question to answer here.
2.What does employer has to do as he is also new in terms of consulting.
They need to register as a sponsor. This will involve sending financial and HR info to the HO.
