Changing from Tier 2 ICT Longterm to Tier 2 General

Hi there,

I am currently on Tier 2 Long Term Staff Migrant visa issued on 23rd May 2011 and I came to UK in July 2011. Initial visa was for 3 years which is now extended till June 2015. My client is ready to sponsor my Tier 2 General Visa. Can you please confirm

1) If I can switch within UK
2) If not, is there any cooling period before I can apply from India
3) If you can please guide me to any policy document reference

yes, you can but if you do you can only get T2G leave to May 2017 (6 year cap)
2) If not, is there any cooling period before I can apply from India
