Applying as 'homemaker' husband to ILR holder

Post by Edwinanthony » Thu Sep 18, 2014 12:33 pm

Hi all, Hope you can help,

My wife and i applied for ILR successfully last year March. I applied as a dependent spouse.

My wife doesn't want to apply for naturalisation herself at present but i want to. Can i apply for naturalisation on my own as a 'homemaker' as i'm unemployed?

My wife called up UKBA and they said that i'll have to prove that i am financially self-sufficient but would not say how much i need to have in my bank account. I have never claimed benefits and don't intend to.

Hope you can help :)

Employment is not a requirement for naturalization. You can put unemployed if you are so.
I am sometimes wrong.
