Family Visitor Passport Validity query - Please advice

Post by SameerSheikh » Wed Sep 24, 2014 4:46 pm

Hi All

I am going to sponsor my parents to come to uk this year as they been coming here before every 2 years.

This time I am going to apply for 2 years family visitor visa. But my dad's passport validity is expiring next year in september. This means he only has another 12 months to go then apply for another passport.

My query is: Can he still apply for 2 years family visitor visa despite his passport is expiring next year in September(12 Months approx). As far as I know the PP validity should be 6 months minimum. But I need your advice before I file the application online.

Regards
Sameer

that's fine. there is no requirement of the passport to be valid for the entire duration of the visa being requested.
in future he just needs to carry both the passports for travel.
