dear friends..

is it true that people who are on student visa need 3 months leave to remain in their passport in order to return after the the visit aborad? fro eg. if they go home urgently and come back just before one for the expiry of the visa. do they decline entry? pls advise

Strictly speaking, no, it's not true. As long as you have valid leave to remain as a student and you are still a genuine student then you are perfectly within your rights to exit and enter the UK within the validity of that leave. However as you approach the expiry of your student visa you can certainly expect a closer examination upon entering the UK from an immigration officer, but this is purely to ensure that you are still a genuine student.

If you are then you have nothing to fear.
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.
