Application for FLR(fp)

Post by Aj2003 » Tue Sep 30, 2014 10:06 am

I'm an overstayer in the UK. Came in 2004 on a 2 yr visa, haven't renewed my stay since. My solicitor advised me to apply for stay using the 10yr private life route FLR(fp). Is there anyone who's used this route before or any advise on how to go about this application, what are their requirements?

Thank you.

If you're not married, what category of visa did you enter with?

I had a 2yr working Holiday Visa but my solicitor advised me to try and apply for the 10yr private life route. Maybe I need a better understanding of what type of application this FLR(fp) is about.

These solicitors are very funny and acting in an unethical manner.

Not sure why they advise a client to apply for something for which they are not entitled.

I think we can only speculate Obie - but they are human beings ... and in some cases are just ill informed ... and in other cases are motivated by other things than their client's best interests.

My understanding is that with unlawful residence (ie an overstayer) 2O years is now the qualifying period before an application for private life can be considered. It was previously 14 years but was amended in 2012.

That is mine aswell Casa. Unless the person is under 25 and has spent half of his/her life in the life in the UK, or has little or no toes with country of origin, or there are exceptional circumstances.
