Work while waiting for interview

Post by Rockey » Fri Oct 03, 2014 11:55 pm

Hi Guys,

I am still working on NI. However i have already applied for T1 Visa and i think interview is expected as i have received a letter that my case complicated and cant decide within 8 weeks!!

So my query is : Can we work legally while visa is on process and if case worker ask question at interview regarding my work what should my reply be? (Note: i am currently running business as well but due to business on small scale i am not earning much that is why i need to work )

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks
Rockey
Best Regards

There is nothing stopping you from working legally, but it does not give a good impression. Considering the fact that this visa category gives lot of room to the case officer to sway, having a full time job will definitely not help in getting a favourable decision. No one here will, however, advise you to lie. Good luck.

I agree with nasirkhan as I also believe that working full time can have a negative impact on decision. It can become a challenge for the applicant to prove how he is managing full time work and also showing simultaneous business activity. We all very well know how UKBA are clamping on visa numbers and the case worker can easily refuse on the basis of 'Failure to meet genuine entrepreneur' test. Though the full time worker won't be breaking any law however, we should also remember that entrepreneur visa category is unlike other work permit categories!!
