Family visitor visa queries

Post by rajesh9pl » Mon Mar 28, 2011 12:02 pm

Hi,

My in-laws ares planning to apply for family visitor visa to see us. They have two sons and a daughter (who is my wife). Both sons are married and working i.e. leading financially independent life.

Question 4.17 - Please provide full details of each of your dependent children
What do we need to fill here?

My father-in-law is retired and draw a good pension, i.e. not dependent on any their kid. Please note, their younger son stays in same house with his wife - both are working. My in-laws have sufficient funds to support their visit.

Many thanks,
Rajesh

answer to it should be no since you had mentioned that the sons are leading independent life and since they are married they would be over 18 years of age

Fill "None"

All the children are earning, so that means no one is dependent on them for financial support.

I am in UK on Tier1 (G). My father in law is planning to apply his family visitor visa. He retired from central govt services (India) couple of years ago and draw a regular pension. He will be financially supporting his visit. While retiring, he received Provident Funds too.

Does he need to show any official document stating he draws a regular pension?

Does he need to show any official document stating he got large sum of money as part of Provident fund?

Many thanks,
Rajesh

Source of income = e.g. - pension = relevant documents to be shown.
Savings = e.g. - PF = relevant documents to be shown if declaring.

Update to previous posts......
Married to a Thai lady, one son who is dual nationality.
We submitted a full UK Settlement Visa application in Thailand in August and are awaiting the outcome.
Trying to find a Plan B if they refuse (although I cannot think why they should).

* We spent three months March - June at my house in France.
* We arrived back in France middle of September and plan to stay (*and go to UK...) towards the end of November.
* I am officially recognised by HMRC as being non UK resident and although I have a house in the UK they have confirmed my primary address as being in France.
* I am fiscally resident in France and submitted - and paid - tax to the French authorities for 2013 (and will do so for 2014).
* I am retired so am 'self-sufficient'.
* My car is French and insured here for many years - I do not have a car in the UK.
* My Thai wife is a French Resident since July 7th this year.

My plan B would be to apply for a Visitor Visa for her in Paris.

Couple of Questions:
1) I would not be able to provide evidence of a return ticket as we would be driving both ways and would not know the exact date of return to France.
2) Many original documents are with the British Embassy in bangkok, which may or may not return them in good time.

All other thing, financial etc ok.

Any comments / advice appreciated.

Also...if the UK Settlement Visa was refused...(and I would appeal because everything seems more than is needed), when the time came to resubmit, can she do this from France, where she is now resident, as we have no plans to go back to Thailand.
