What category visa for my sister

Post by cp090613 » Wed Oct 08, 2014 2:56 pm

Hi guru,

I currently settle in the UK with my British partner w/ 2 kids. They are 1 1/2 and 1/2 yr old.
I am thinking to invite my sister to come and live with us for looking after 2 kids.
As it is not short term, I believe tourist visa is not applicable for this case.

We intend to have her 1 yr and visit home country every 6months.

Could someone help me on visa category and supported documents?

Thanks!!!

There isn't a suitable visa for that.

The only option would be a long term tourist visa - which would allow her to stay for (effectively) 6 months in any given 12.

You are basically proposing to employ your sister as a nanny - even if it's for no money. UKBA take a dim view of that as they believe it takes jobs away from UK based people. E.g. you can employ someone here to do it.
