FORM AN Section 1: Personal Information

Dear all,
I hope you are well.

My query is regarding FORM AN (Application for naturalisation as a British citizen). In section 1 (Personal Information), I can't find anywhere to write my First Name! Section 1.5 is for Surname/Family Name, Section 1.6 is Other names, and Section 1.7 is Name at birth if different from above. There is no sub-section for the First Name!?

If you read AN policy guideline you will find Section 1.5 is for Surname and in Section 1.6 you have to write your first name.

I just read guidance, it says:

1.4 Tick the box appropriate to your title or write in your title if it is different. Please note that royal titles should not be used.
1.5 Enter your surname or family name as you want it to appear on your certificate.
1.6 Enter your other names as you want them to appear on your certificate.

For example if your name is Taher Mohamed Hashim Al Hassan, and you are known as Mr Al Hassan then put Al Hassan in section 1.5 and Taher Mohamed Hashim in section 1.6

Thanks guys for your replies. So my understanding is that Section 1.5 is for Surname and Section 1.6 is for First name!
