Greetings
I had a basic inquiring. I am from the US and I came this previous year on a Tier 4 student visa. I have since finished and have a job. He is wanting to sponsor me to a Tier 2 visa which is fine however he wants me to start to drive. We do a lot of on site work for small businesses.
From what I read on the UK gov website I can drive for 1 year on my US license while I get the UK license. However Since I have already been a Tier 4 student does that count as my 1 year ? as I have never owned a car or drove? Or does the 1 year start on my Tier 2 visa when it starts.
Edit: to add to this, we rely heavily on driving, currently the person that is driving will be leaving about the time my visa is expiring (tier 4) So I would have to start driving then. However before my boss does the paperwork and spends money to sponsor me I dont want to accidentally talk to him saying i can drive when in actuality i can't.
Any suggestions or information would be great
