Entry Clearance Refusal

Post by pdeshpande » Mon Aug 27, 2007 4:40 am

Hi all. I had applied for EC for Business Visa in June 2002. I was rejected, and reason given was "Lack of necessary dcouments". I re-applied with the documents and again got the refusal. I again applied for the third time and again got a refusal. But, the letter given to me by British Deputy High Commission said that "You have not been refused a Visa". It was just a photocopy of letter which was always given to me. There have been stamps on my passport evertytime I had visited the High Commission for Visa which just had the dates when I had visited BHC. Also, it is noteworthy thing that I had not received any reference number (if at all it was a refusal) I myself still don't know whether it was a visa refusal, or it was just because I really did not have proper documents.

Now I am applying for HSMP and hope to get the approval soon. Will the above have any impact on my EC for HSMP? Also, in the VAF, the section which mentions "Have you ever been refused a visa to UK" what should I write there? Yes or No ?

you're always better off telling the truth. aren't they going to have your passport (that has the BHC stamps) when you apply? either way you're better off not lying. good luck.

Hi jagacharaja! I dont have any problem telling the truth. But I myself dont know what the truth is. As I said before, I myself don't know till today whether I have been refused a visa or only due to lack of proper documents, I was not issued a visa.

Also, now I have a new passport which is a third one, and these stamps are on my first passport

I would just include the documents they sent you and say In order to cover my bases I have included the following documentation. It is unclear to me whether this constitutes a previous refusal or request for additional documentation.
