FLR (M) Form Query

Post by m.asif » Mon Oct 27, 2014 12:29 am

Hi Everyone

First of all I would like to thank you all on this forum for doing such a wonderful job.

I got ILR on the basis of long residence last month. I am now applying for my wife’s visa using FLR(M) form. My wife came to UK in 2009 as dependant of Tier 1 (PSW) and currently she is on dependant of Tier 1 General visa expiring August 2015.

I want to clarify few points for my wife’s FLR (M) form

1) 2.3 What stage of extension of leave you are applying?
She is already on dependant visa however she is applying for dependant of settled person for the first time so should I tick ‘First period of leave to remain’?

2) 4.4 Details of children
We have two kids (both UK born) I have applied for their British Citizenship certificate using MN1 form last week.
Do I need to give their detail in section 4.4?

3) In section 7.2 should I tick Applying with no children dependants? Which means I need minimum £18,600 to fulfil financial requirement?

4) 7.12 How many other rooms in the property
Does this include bedrooms?
We are living in a 2 bed flat. So in this case (2 bedrooms + 1 sitting room = 3)?

5) Do I need to send my original passport and BRP card with my wife’s application?

6) 7.3A Income from Salaried Employment
My salary can alone fulfil the financial requirement. My wife work part time. Do I still need to provide her employment details/payslips/employer letter as well?

Kind regards

1. Why should it be "first period of leave to remain"? Isn't spouse of a person present and settled in the UK and a biometric immigration document more appropriate?
2. If the question ask you to supply it,why not,it's as simple as that.
3. Yeah, with no children so the minimum requirement of 18600 should be fine ( why not get the kids stuff done first b4 this one as I don't know what the visa they on b4 now or if they're automatically exempted in this case, may be a senior member can clarify that,of course it a different case when they've got their citizenship.
4. I can't see any section 7.12 on the form, but if the question asks if you have a room to yourself, yes, other 2 rooms will make it 3,sitting room is counted as a room too.
5. You don't need to and not required, a certified copy of your passport pages, all pages should be fine and the card as well.
6. If relying on your income, keep it simple by providing yours alone. Except her income is part of the application, there's no need, only yours.
