Remaining in UK after working holiday

Post by AL76 » Tue Aug 28, 2007 11:48 am

My New Zealand boyfriend's working holiday visa is nearly up (in 3 weeks) and I have come for a holiday with him before we go home. Is there any option for him to be able to remain in the UK for a little longer (not working) as we want to visit friends etc before we head to Europe. Just 3 weeks longer really! I realise that time is running out, but I would appreciate advice on the best course of action. Many thanks!!

He can apply for an extension, but that would cost £395!

I think the best thing would be an overnight trip to France, then coming back in as a visitor. If he can show that he has an onward ticket to New Zealand or to elsewhere in Europe then he should be okay.

Safer way to apply for a UK Residence Permit under para 44 HC 395 with visitor conditions.

6 months extension at a cost of 395 GBP.

Use FLRO application form.

A border application as a visitor as suggested above may not work, although possible.
