Name change on BRP will not match foreign passport

I am planning to legally change my surname through a deed poll & will notify UKBA through TOC- change of circumstances form within 3 months. However, my canadian passport takes 15 long months to amend my 'new' surname in the passport. My question is- will UKBA accept the legal name change done in UK ( through deed poll) even when my passport won't reflect it for atleast 12-15 months? Will I be in for a shock while travelling back to UK with the 'new' surname on BRP and 'old' surname on Canadian passport? My ILR is up for submission in 3 months time. Would it be better to wait & do both applications together? Thanks for your help.

Given you want to apply for ILR shortly - my advice is keep it simple and don't change your name etc until after your ILR is dealt with.
