Tier 2 ICT to dependent visa

I can see below post from you regarding switch from Tier 2 ICT to dependent visa. I have a similar case, my wife needs to switch to dependent visa. Are you able to apply from UK itself and how it went through? Can you please let me know.

Hey Manci,

I have the same kind of situation. I am on ICT Tier 2 visa for one year, but after a month my employer have no defined assignment for me and so they want me to return back. My husband is on Tier 2 General Visa and I want to apply for dependent visa on this basis. My question is:

1. Can my visa type be changed from ICT tier 2 to Dependent without returning to India ?
2. If yes, would I still be able to work for my employer?

Kindly help me as its very urgent.

Hello Manci,

I am working in UK on Tier 2 ICT long term since May 2010 and my visa is valid till 2016.

My wife is currently working in UK on Tier 2 ICT 1 year visa (stamped by her company in Jan 2013) which is due to expire soon. I want her to switch from Tier 2 ICT to dependent visa since her current visa will expire soon.

1. Can the visa type be changed from ICT tier 2 to Dependent without returning to India?
2. If yes, can you provide some link or information on how we can apply it from UK?
