2 Jobs to meet Minimum income threshold (£22400)

Post by navjotisher » Tue Nov 11, 2014 8:17 pm

Hello Everyone,

My wife and 6 months old son are in India and can not sponsor them as my salary does not meet the minimum income threshold. My main employment, which is a salaried one, I earn £17900 pa from it, thus I am £4500 short. I have recently started a second job from last month to meet the income criteria and it is non salaried job.

1. Can I apply after six months combining income from salaried and non salaried employment?
2. In case of non salaried employment do I need to earn £4500 in six months or earn half (£2250) in six months.

Kindly reply soon.

I somewhat disagree with the advice given and I would want any of the moderator to correct me if I am wrong.

If you currently earn £17,900 per annum in your permanent job, it means you are only £700 short of meeting the required amount of £18,600. When you have completed six months in your part-time job and during that six months you have earned £700 from that employment, you can apply. You only need to earn £700 within a period of six months to meet the £18,600. However, you can not apply if you have been in the part time job for less than six months even if you have already earned that shortfall of £700 before completing six months.

I have noticed that the OP will also be sponsoring a child in addition to sponsoring a partner. Disregard my post, I now agree with the advice already provided. I concede!

Thanks Zee Ali for reply. In my case its £22400 as I am having a kid.
Its actually confusing because I have checked the other posts as well and there some members agree and some disagree. Do you know anyone who took the same route and got the decision in favour? Plz put some light on it.

u will be fine U should be with both employer for 6 months or more and use Cat A. U need 6 month bank statement , 6 months wage slip from both jobs (if paid monthly). Letters from both employer stating your job and salary information.
