Tier 2G Main to Tier 2G dependant (maintenance)

Post by Sire » Mon Nov 10, 2014 10:09 am

Hi,

Both me and wife are on T2G. I want to switch to be her dependant due to my current circumstances.
* I believe I can apply from Uk ?
* Is it necessary for me to produce statements showing 630 GBP last 90 days in either of our accounts as I am applying as her dependant ?
*I need to make the application before the fund completes 90 days,so what are my options if any?

Looking fwd to hear your comments, thanks

your wife can ask her sponsor for a letter certifying maintenance for you. See para 55:

thank you Manci.

* is it just a letter in her company head paper saying they will accomodate me and nothing more ? Is there a format or something ?
* if they are not happy to do it, what else can be done ?
* I understand you get 60 days to leave the country, so if I overstay for 2 weeks after this time, 90 days will be completed and I can apply like normal. Will this affect my ILR later or is it advisable ?

Thanks again

The letter you are expecting from home office maybe delayed, as it is often.
I am expecting from your post that you have stopped working/resigned/fired from your current job. If so, the 60 days curtailment of visa is from the time your sponsor informs the UKVI and not from when u have left job. And more often the curtailment letter is often delayed.

the 60 days is actually counted from the date of the UKVI decision which may be quite a bit later than the notification by the sponsor.[/quote]

Thank you both,

My other question being, out of intrest, is it advisable to stay may be a week or so after your curtailment period to apply for the visa(in my case to complete 90 days for maintenance ) ? I know there is no right to appeal if it goes down south but I have also heard you can have max 28 days of overstay when applying LR ILR which is my only route now if I cant switch to another employer for ILR ?

Is there difference between 5 years tier 2 ILR and LR ILR I mean on the dependant side of things ?
