Hello,
I would like to ask for some advice about my British citizenship application.I asked before here and I was advised that I can apply after holding my Permanent Residence blue card for 1 year. That year already passed on 15 November 2014.
I am asking again for help because I just called Nationality checking service in Brent and the lady told me that I cannot apply and I would be refused to be British citizen. She said that I had to work for continuous 6 years.I did not work for 6 years but I worked for 2 years and after I was on JSA for 3 years looking after my wife who was very ill.She was not able to look after herself and our son.
While I was on JSA and I was looking for a part-time job and got 1 only for 1 month in 2013.The lady from NCS Brent council told me that all these years on JSA will not count towards my BC.
I am now confused as she represents the council and NCS success is 98%.Is she really right that to be able to apply for BC you need to work for 6 years? Is it correct that people should not even bother to apply as they would lose the fee?
So why I received my EE3 3 Permanent residence? To get it you need to exercise treaty rights for 5 years and home office knew about me being on JSA as I sent my job applications and Letter from Job centre. So is it that they give PR but not BC?
I received my PR EEA3 on 15Nov 2013.I passed my English Test and Life in the UK test for no avail?I do not have any criminal records and everything else is in order like taxes and council tax ect.
Please advise me as I am having a headache now.Everybody says different things.
Thank you
Wojciech
