hi I was born in UK in 1973, my parents are Indian. My parents lived and worked in UK for over 9 years and I live in UK six years after my birth, now I am in UK under Tier 2 visa (ICT )dependent, I was given to understand that if a person is born in UK prior to 1986, can apply for citizenship immediately , if its true , what do I need to do

As you were born in the UK before 1st Jan 1983 you are automatically British by birth unless your parents were here in diplomatic service for another country. As a British citizen you can apply directly for a British passport.
