Guys, here's a response from a prospective employer even after mentioning about HSMP visa. Is this how it works with HSMP ... Any views.

I guess that is there perogative if they don't want to hire someone without a permanent visa but that really narrows down their pool.
Not all employers are like that.
I tend to not discuss my visa status unless they ask me

I also wouldn't mention HSMP unless they ask.

If someone asks you if you have the right to live/work in the UK, I would simply answer yes.

If they ask if there are restrictions, my answer has been that it is initially limited in time, but that there are no restrictions, and it can be renewed as long as I'm productive. I have also mentioned that it doesn't require any sponsorship or support from the company.

If a company is saying they won't hire you without having permanent residency, even though HSMP leads to permanent residency, then they don't sound friendly. I'm not sure you'd really be happy there anyway.

even my spouse was rejected due to lack of Permanent residency from same company .. its quite uncommon but still prevailing in the market. Even though u say about ur HSMP eligibility and its ongiong status etc.. they are definitely going to look for "Permanency" stamp on passport.

I think u r better off not working for such an Ignorant employer...
They are not helping them selves by rejecting "Highly Skilled" People..
Move on..Dont want to work for such firm who dont know various Visa??
I dont mind recruiting agents being ignorant,as u wont work for them, but employers/companies??dont forget u have to work for/with them
