Dear Friends,
I recently acquired British Citizenship subsequently got Indian passport surrender certificate.
I am planing to apply for OCI card, I need help filling the application.
My wife's name is not present/included in my recently surrendered Indian passport. In the OCI application there is a column for marriage status. The information I should provide in the application form should reflect exactly as in my Indian passport details? or can i go about confirming that I am married?
Also, My wife took my surname after coming to UK, all her official UK documents hold my surname. However her Indian passport still holds her parents surname, so is her ILR visa. She is not British at the moment, but will be at some point.
I am bit confused, If anyone of you came through the same situation, could you please advise me on:
1) Should I mention that I am married, even though no spouse details present in my Indian Passport?
1.1) If i mention I am married, what supporting documents I should provide? May be a covering letter explaining the situation, along with self-attested marriage certificate?
2) Should I enter my wife's parents surname as it appears in her Indian passport or my surname?
Thanks for your help in advance..
Cheers
