Tier 2- travelling outside UK after resignation

Hi All,

I am currently on Tier 2 (general) but have resigned from my current job and will apply for another tier 2 (general) visa in January as my new job doesn't start till February. I was wondering if it is still ok for me to travel outside the UK for a holiday on my current visa and come back in first week of January? Will the Immigration officer at the check point on the airport know that I have resigned and ask me questions or can they refuse entry? Please help!
