I have just spoken to a lovely lady at the HO call centre and as per standard reply: "we need to wait" I am utterly disappointed with the citizenship service the HO provides as they have already "nabbed" me £906. They will certainly hear from my local MP after Jan 16th.

Are you sure with the PR date, 2014? Was this when u qualified for PR?, if yes then you don't qualify for naturalisation yet as you need to wait 1 year after PR.

I qualified for PR June 2013 where EEA3 application was made later and I received PR card in June 2014. So, I do qualify for British citizenship. I do not see any reason why it takes so long for a decision.

But I have time....

I called up yesterday as 6 months had elapsed. Was told that according to the information they have, my application is still being processed and to wait a further 3 weeks. I asked if they had written to me asking for more supporting evidence and possibly missed the letter over Christmas but reply was that no letter had been sent. Unable to provide me with any further update and was told to write in for more detailed update but stressed that it might be the same answer. Very annoying. I have 2 trips planned at the 2nd half of this year and want to book flights asap. Going to have to book then in the hope this gets sorted asap and cross fingers.

Hello everybody,

I thought about making a new thread but it might get deleted.

My application was sent in July 2014 and today I received my passport. Therefore, my Naturalisation process is finished. I found these forums after my application had been approved. However, I've been following these forums ever since.

I do feel a little emotional right now as it was a very long process, from the day I married my English husband, moved to the UK, went through all the requirements from spouse visa to ILR to Naturalisation.

I know a lot of people are still waiting for their approvals and I wish everybody the very best and may all your applications be approved soon. A big thanks to all the contributors. Fingers crossed!

I applied on 22nd July and no reply yet. Called HO today and same generic reply that it's under process. It's been 5 months and 2 weeks. I'll wait 2 more weeks and then I'll do whatever I can. Will write to MP, HO complaints department, Home Secretary, Freedom of Information (Right to know). I paid same money as those who applied after me and got approvals before me so I won't just sit n wait. But hopefully I'll get my approval before 22nd of this month. In Sha Allah.

I asked HO to provide information on applications they received in July & August. How many were approved within 6 months and how many are still pending. They are suppose to reply back within 20 working days. Let's see. Here's the link for updates.

Some people from the other months already tried asking the same question but HO said they can't give this kind of information. They just don't care...

I called them yesterday and the person on the phone didn't even asked me for my Ref number. All he said is that I have to wait until the 6 months are over... I told you...they don't give a demn...

They will have to give information under "Freedom of Information" Act. I didn't make enquiry about my personal case but I asked questions about overall pending cases from July. I called them as well and guy asked my ref number and said I should receive a reply before 23rd Jan because that's when 6 months are completed.
