stop working while BC application still pending

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knows what will happen with my BC application if I stop working while my case is still pending? I'm an EU national who was exercising Treaty Rights as an employee for a period of over 6 years before I applied for my BC. I have never applied for my PR tho. I'm currently on my Maternity leave and have a problem to afford the child care so not sure if will be able to come back to work after that.
