Travel/work within Europe for non-EEA spouse

Post by tebee » Mon Dec 22, 2014 1:10 am

I'm English, live in France with my Chinese wife who has a 5 year French residence card ( carte de sejour) marked Family of EEA citizen.

She has the possibility of some work, but it would involve travelling to other European countries for a few days at a time to do accreditations on people there. Can she do this on her own or would she need me to travel with her ?

I can't see any problems with the Schengen area counties , but it will also probably involve going to the UK and Switzerland. I suppose at the moment we don't know how the UK is going to implement the recent ECJ ruling so we don't really know there. Has Switzerland abolished border controls now ?

I agree customs control is still there so abolistion of border control is not fully correct. Only immigration control has been removed for travel within schengen area.
