T2ICT Dependent to T2General

Post by ankjain » Wed Dec 31, 2014 10:17 am

Hi,
My wife was on T2ICT Dependent from 3-May-2014. She is joining a firm on 5-Jan-2015. This firm is listed-A sponsor for T2G Visa. They say that they would be able to provide her Sponsorship for T2G but after completion of probation period (3 months)

I want to understand if that is possible?

They might have to do RLMT to provide restricted CoS. Can they do that 3 months after someone has joined? Or is there a way for them? Please help.

To get T2G Visa, she will apply from home country with restricted CoS. Once she gets the visa I can apply as her dependent from UK. And after 5 years we'll be eligible for ILR. Is that correct?

Thanks in advance

Your wife is a PBS dependant and as such can be employed legally at any skill level with her pay only subject to national minimum wage regulations. The RLMT is a test to see if there are is anyone from the settled workforce who can undertake a job at a specified skill level and with an appropriate salary. This process is completely independent from your wife's current employment and can be initiated at any time. If the RLMT is successful from your wife's point of view, i.e. there are no suitable applicants from the settled workforce, then she can be sponsored for the job for which the RLMT was carried out.

Yes, there is no issue with that. Both are two different things. See Manci's comments above.
