Entry with CoA??

Post by ShrewsburyMark » Wed Dec 31, 2014 7:56 pm

My wife received her CoA with right to work dated 28th October, based on current timelines I expect/hope to receive her RC in a week or 2. She is currently out of the country and planning to return around 19th Jan. I am wondering whether it is possible to enter UK with just her CoA and marriage cert if the RC hasn't been issued by then? Obviously it will depend on the airline (Ryanair no way!) but if legal then I would hope that Air Baltic will allow boarding.

I would say yes, and regardless of whether she has the CoA with her. Do bear in mind that the CoA does not create any rights in itself but rather declares/confirms the rights that your wife already has.

She should however be ready to respond the usual questions at the border and therefore she should take all supporting documentation with her.

Thanks, still waiting for RC so might have to give it a go, will call Air Baltic. If not she will fly to Brussels and I will pick her up in car and drive Calais with Marriage cert, CoA etc. I know they have to let us back in if we do that route. Will post our experience in due course
