5 years ICT for ILR

Post by mingus » Tue Jan 06, 2015 1:36 pm

Dear all:

I need some advices/answers for 5 years ICT which are not crystal clear to me yet, after going through websites. My wife and I were granted with ICT visas (from 1 Jan 2012 to 31 Jan 2015). She arrived in UK in May 2012 and I arrived in Feb 2012. Our ICT visa were just extended until 14th Jan 2017 with the same employer. She hold dependent visa. I guess that 5 years rule is applied.

We are staying in UK continuously since the first arrival. My questions simply are:
(1) Can we apply for ILR after 5 years?
(2) If we can, when can we start the application process, especially my wife and I arrived UK with different time?
(3) If we cannot, what option can we have to get ILR later on?

Thanks a lot for your help.

I think only those granted leave on ICT visas issued before April 2010 are entitled to apply for ILR.

To gain ILR you'd have to switch to a visa that is a path to ILR, i.e. most likely Tier 2 General.
