Tax credits application still pending after 5 months

I'm a British born citizen, been working full time over a year now here. My American husband is here awaiting a decision on a discretionary leave to remain application, he was previously here under visitor rights so cannot work. I get child benefit for my daughter and applied for tax credits in the summer. I've had a letter asking for additional information more than three months ago and still no decision. Can anyone advise me on anything I can do? I get absolutely zero help when phoning them.

Child Tax credit normally take maximum upto 5 weeks in your case I would advice write to your mp. Tell them when you applied and how long you've had no money from tax credits.
hopefully HMRC sorted this issue within a week and you will start getting your money.
