Spouse Visa Extension

Post by raykau » Mon Jan 12, 2015 2:14 pm

Hello All

I would be grateful to have some views on this.

I have a friend whose wife got Spouse Visa and got her English Language credentials when she originally
applied to join my friend who is a British Citizen.

Her Spouse Visa is now nearing expiry and they are planning to apply for an extension soon.

They are just confused whether she will need to give another English language exam to apply for extension
or the original exam will still be valid for the extension.

Would be grateful to have your thoughts and let me know if any further information may be required.

Thanks in advance.

The English requirement for spouse extension is the same as the spouse visa, i.e. English at Level A1 of the CEFR, so the same certificate can be used again for FLR(M)

However, i would just double check that the English is still on the latest list of acceptable qualifications approved by the Home Office as this can change from 2.5 years ago (and did change due to the recent exam fraud scandal surrounding qualifications such as ETS, TOEIC, TOEFL)
