Fiance is pregnant, can we still go the UK?

Post by stonesfield » Tue Sep 11, 2007 5:10 am

Hello there.

Does anyone know how my soon to be wife being pregnant will affect an application for a spouse/settlement visa after we are married. I am a British citizen and live with my fiance here in Peru. We were planning on applying to travel to the UK to live about the time that the baby is due but it won't be possible to travel when she is very pregnant or when the baby is less than three months old.

So, we're thinking of going earlier to have the baby there but of course we need to apply for the settlement visa first. I'm going to ask at the consulate in the next few days but thought I should get some information from this forum first.

Thanks so much if you can help.

Her being pregnant will not affect the outcome of the visa application. Apply for fiancée visa soon, and then get her to the UK before she is too pregnant to fly.

How many weeks pregnant is she at the moment?

Thanks for your reply John.

She's 15 weeks pregnant. We're getting married in three weeks time. I'm thinking of applying for a spouse visa just after becoming married (early October) to travel with her to the UK at the beginning of December, when she´'ll be 6 months pregnant.

I'm reassured you saying it won't affect the visa application.
