COS validity expired but visa is valid for 2 years

Hi

I am on Tier 2 visa. I was sponsored by my company in November 2013. I was given visa which is valid till november 2016. Last week, my company received an email to renew their COS allocation if needed. Company requested for two more new COS allocation if needed for this year.

My employer double checked about the status of sponsored employees. For couple of sponsored employees, under COS status it says "USED". In my case it says "EXPIRED" but i have a visa valid till November 2016. What does it mean? Does it mean I can't work for this company or Company needs to reallocate COS to me?

I read Miscellaneous COS status guidance points: It says

EXPIRED: EITHER The COS has not been used in time by the individual and has expired and a new COS is required.

OR the COS has been used by the individual but we have not considered their application before the COS expiry date. In this case, no action is required on your part. we will change the status of COS from EXPIRED to USED when the application is considered.

Can anyone please help me what does it actually mean regarding my status in this country. I didn't receive any letter or my employer regarding change of visa or COS validity status.

Please advise me what action should I take now? I appreciate your suggestions and advise.
