is october a good time to go to UK and look for jobs?

I have a corproate finance, Investment Banking profile and planning to go to uk in Oct and look for jobs. Can someone assist if October is a good time to go and look for jobs in the Finance Industry?

If you look for jobs in October, they say the market is just picking from summer holidays. Please bear with us until Nov-Dec.

If you look for jobs in December, well its christmas time, all university grads are desperately looking for jobs in London. So better wait till January.

If you look for jobs in Jan.Feb, they say, Oh we are very busy right now and will be back shortly. Well shortly means never or we regret to inform you blah blah.

If you look for jobs in April, well its easter, managers directors are off.

If you look for jobs in May June, its summertime, key staffs are taking annual leave, either you wait till they come back or you might just buy a birthday cake at Sainsburys to celebrate your one year wait.

My solution is simple if you cant get a sponsor for your work permit then come and study for a Masters degree and get one year work permit free.

Generally speaking. September - October - November tend to be the peak hiring season in most western economies.

Assuming some other factor (economic crisis/war/etc.) isn't interfering.

Best is to begin getting applications & CV's by end of August and through September to have your best chances during October & November.

What rubbish. March and April are the best times to be looking for work, as budgets are generally approved in February... and a lot of people change jobs in March.

Be warned that much of the financial services sector has a recruitment freeze now for the remainder of the year, due to the credit squeeze.
