Fiance Visa Refusal - Advice needed

Post by 7-Ball » Thu Jan 22, 2015 10:19 pm

Hi, everybody. Me and my UK fiance could really use your advice. We just received our visa refusal notice...All things were satisfied except for the financial requirement. Based upon the response from the immigration officer (Which is attached) the problem is that my sponsor's savings were in bonds instead of a bank account. We understand this mistake, but wanted to post here before we decide upon starting a new application.

Do we have any grounds for appeal on anything the officer is saying? Or is there anything we can do with the money in the bonds other than transferring it, waiting six months, and starting a new application? Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks for bringing up that link Vinny. I cannot add more than what i stated on that link.

Will need to liquidate those bonds into cash savings to make up for the shortfall, and then provided you have held those bonds for a period of 6 months or more, it will be counted towards the financial requirement, and the period it was held as bond will be counted as if it was held in savings, once those bonds have been converted into cash and put in savings account.

Seems like the refusal was correct.

This is why I posted here. THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH! So if I understand this correctly, as soon as we liquidate the bonds into acceptable cash savings, and provide evidence that the bonds were held for at least six months, then we can reapply immediately?

Thanks again. I just have a few questions about reapplying if you all don't mind.

Can we re-use all of our documents again or do they need to be updated so they are time stamped with a recent date? None of our documents are older than October 2014.

Will I have to have my biometrics taken again?

Thanks a lot!

You will have to apply with the most recent set of documents.
