Urgent Switch from T4 to T2

Hi Everyone,

I am currently on a Visa Tier 4 Student, which expires on Jan 30, 2015.

I found a job and signed a contract today.
The company has certificate of sponsorship and can sponsor me.

The issue is that my visa expires by the end of this week and I just started this morning.
I understand they need to process my application as quick as possible, but what are my options?

If they start the online application before the 30th, I am allowed to stay and work?

If they start the online application after the 30th, I am allowed to stay and work? I read somewhere that I have a grace-period of 28 days but I am not sure it applies to me.

Thanks for your prompt support, as you can imagine I am extremely stressed especially that I finally found a job.

As long as you apply before your visa expires, you can continue to work as per the conditions on your tier 4 visa until a decision has been made on your tier 2 application.

If you choose to apply for further leave during the 28 days grace period, you'll start overstaying on 31 Jan (no right to work) and can only resume work once your Tier 2 G has been approved.
