Schegen Visa - French consulate - Without appointment letter

Hi,

I have taken an online appointment with french consulate for schengen visa for my family. However, i was unable to download/printout of appointment letter since the Internet Explorer gave an error while doing the same.

When contacted French embassy, they asked me to goto 'User Account' in their website and take the printout of the appoinment letter. However, since, i had given the SAME email id for all the family members while taking the appointment, i am able to get the letter for only one member The file number is obtained against an email id, but SAME email id for three members resulted in overwrite i suppose).

My question is, can we still goto the French embassy for the interview without the appointment letter (citing the above problem) and by just mentioning the Passport number, can i apply for the Visa (since i have already taken the appointment, though i don't have the letters with me) ?
