Uk citizen with ukrainian spouse

My husband and I are planning to move to Ireland and use our free right of movement.

Due to visa issues i am currently in uk and he is in ukraine. I am seeking employment but with the situation in the Ukraine I want him out of there asap and safe.

Can we go to Ireland without applying for visa? I have heard that u can turn up at the airport but if as of yet I don't have employment or accommodation. Is it at all possible to go to Ireland together and then secure employment, rental agreements etc?

Your husband cannot leave the Ukraine without a valid visa. Thats the rule at the Ukraine border control for Ukrainiens. Beside that no airline would let him boarding in the Ukraine without a visa.
Your husband would need a visa from the irish embassy in Kiew for a direct flight to Dublin.

HAvign said that, as a family member of an EU citizen and if you are showing them you are travelling to Ireland at the same time, the Irish embassy should issue a visa free of charge and no question asked.
