Hi,
I came to UK in 2008 January 1st and I have leave to remain till November. I have completed ACCA part qualification and got enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Business Management which I have almost finished and expecting to pass with a nice result. During this course I submitted my dissertation and also achieved my BSc Hons in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University. So it is two degrees to my CV. Yay! However, I am willing to pursue a law conversion course. Something like GDL or an accelerated LLB. As I have been in UK as a student for 7 years I believe some sort of CAP applies due to the new Tier 4 Visa Guidelines. Good for me, certain law courses are exempted from the CAP. I am pasting a paragraph from UKCISA website regarding the exempted courses below -
"if you have completed a UK degree, and your current Tier 4 application is to study certain legal qualifications the legal qualification is exempt from the limit. In England and Wales the relevant qualifications are a law conversion course, a Legal Practice Course and the Bar Professional Training Course. In Northern Ireland the relevant qualifications are a Masters in Legal Science (MLegSc), the Solicitors Course and the Bar Course. In Scotland the relevant qualifications are an accelerated graduate LLB and a Diploma in Professional Legal Practice."
Now I am a bit confused. If I want to study two years accelerated LLB in a UNI in England will it be ok? Or do I need to go study in Scotland?! Can someone please give me insight? As these courses are exempt from CAP does it mean I can apply and continue my academic career?
Regards,
Nazoo.
