Advice please !!! - British passport application

Hi

I am holding an indian passport that expires july 2015.
I am applying for naturalisation end of may 2015.

So is it better to apply for indian passport renewal now?It would be great to know if its worth renewing.

there are a couple of things:
1. i ma travelling abroad mid march so i cant renew until march 16.
2. I need to have my indian passport for nationality chekcing service.
3, i don't have any travel plans during june- aug.

i am very confused as to if i should renew my indian passport or just apply for naturalisation and wait for british passport.

Also when i surrender my indian passport can i surrender an expired passport?
Any clarity is much appreciated.

You don't need to renew passport for naturalisation application.
I dont know if you can surrender your expired passport or not but I don't see any reason why? You will be giving up your Indian nationality anyway.

You don't need to renew passport for naturalisation application.
I dont know if you can surrender your expired passport or not but I don't see any reason why? You will be giving up your Indian nationality anyway.

You can surrender expired passport. Expired passport is not a cancelled one and still have value.
Renewal is an easy process, and HCI London page says they take 10 days.
If you do not plan to travel, you probably do not need an unexpired passport after naturalization. In case of emergency there is Tatkal scheme at HCI which can give you Indian passport in 1-3 days.

I just realised yesyterday that my holidya to turkey next month requires 6 month passport validity.
SO i need to renew anyway.

I live in Glasgow so i suppose i cant make use of TAtkal in HCI london.

Does anyone know if CGI edinburgh do tatkal scheme?

Please help.
