Tier 2 general extension

for extension of tier2 general how earliest applicant can apply for extension.

my understanding is 28 days but i got confuse because of below conversation..

in your answer to mr raja first Q re extension application 5 or 6 months before mr raja current leave expired, my understanding is that applicant can apply at earliest before 28 days of the expiry of current leave. so how come one can apply 5 or 6 months before??

You can apply earlier than 28 days before (actually you can apply whenever you want, like when you change jobs or something), but it might mean you would need additional extensions before being eligible for ILR.
