switching from student visa to work permit visa?

switching from student visa to work permit visa?

Hi,all
I was just wondering if anybody could give me an advise.I have been studing in UK for 7 years, and I have a few certificates and degree in BBA.I dicided to continue my study and I have 18 months to complete it.I would like to apply for a work permit visa, but Im not sure where to start.Im planning to settle in UK in the future,but I dont want to wait till it will be 10 years me being lived in UK, so I was thinking maybe it could happen sooner if I switch to a working permit visa.My question is can I switch to work permit visa and what do I have to do? If no, Is there a better option?

The problem is that unless you have just finished your degree and still have the same visa then you can't switch in-country to a work permit. If you get a work permit, you'd have to leave the UK to get the visa stamped, and this would send the ILR clock back to zero.

When did you graduate? Have you looked at the International Graduates Scheme?

Hi,Victoria,I graduated at the end of the spring 2007 and started a new course in june.Unfortunately,Im a non-eu nationality and it unables me to apply under International Graduates Scheme.Is there anythingelse I can do?

where did you get that from? its not true, infact its only for Non-EU students since students from within EU do not need any permission to work

infact its only for Non-EU students since students from within EU do not need any permission to work
Generally speaking, yes. But students from Bulgaria and Romania are allowed only upto 20 hours of work a week.
