thank you for your reply
just to clarify, do I need to resign from job in the UK or take a long holiday(which could be a possibility)
how long do I need to exercise my treaty rights in Ireland for my parents to apply for a visa (currently they are in Pakistan) and whether they will need to apply for a visa from Pakistan? (is the visa name, "Family of EU citizen")
Also just to let you know they applied for a family visit visa in the UK and they have been granted a 6 month visa and they should make their way to see me in April 15
any chance of them applying a visa while they come here?
thanks in advance
You would have to "move your centre of life" to the other country and be economically active.
Meaning no leaving spouse or children behind, no leaving a UK property empty, no working for your UK employer remotely, finding a job or being self-employed in the new country, actively participating in community life, renting a self-contained flat rather than sleeping on a friend's sofa, changing your drivers license to an Irish one, taking out a mobile phone contract rather than using pay as you go, etc., etc.
The UK is trying to limit the use of the Surinder Singh route. Most probably you'd have to work and live in Ireland together with yoru parents for at least six months, better a year before applying for their EEA family permit to move to the UK.
