Certificate of Sponsorship start date overlap

Hi,

I have been granted Tier 2 general visa for 3 years that is valid till 30, April 2015. Now, I am in the process of applying for extension. My employer has issued a new CoS with start date as 1, March 2015 and end date as 30, April 2018. So the total period of the new CoS is more than 3 years (3 years+2 months). Though my current leave is valid till 30, April 2015, there is an overlap of 2 months in my new CoS.
Please let me know if it will be an issue if I apply for extension with my new CoS.
Moreover I am not sure if I have to pay the visa fee for 5 years instead of 3 years (as the new Cos period is for 3 years and 2 months).
Kindly let me know if there is a way to change the start date from 1, March 2015 to 1, May 2015.

Overlapping of 2 months is not an issue.
But you have to pay for 5 years as your CoS is for more than 3 years. Even if it's 1 day more, you
have to pay for 5 years.
I think you can ask your HR to add note in CoS to change the start date.
But you can wait for expert to answer on this.
