Spouse visa while on Tier 2

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can shed some light on something for me. All my searches come up with this scenario where the one spouse is a UK Citizen, which I am not.

I am from South Africa. So is my girlfriend. We have been looking at getting married but not sure how this impacts on visas. I am working in the UK on a tier 2 General visa and earn enough to sponsor her visa, my gf still lives in SA.

First question: When we get married. Does she just apply for a dependent visa on her own (with me supplying the needed details about my own? My Tier 2 needs to be renewed in September so we wouldn't do anything until that has been approved.

Second question: Would she be allowed to work here on a tier 2 dependent visa (I know this sounds like I am trying to get her in to work, I promise this isn't the case, we are just tired of living apart for 2 years and just want to settle down)?

yes she needs to apply tier 2 dependent, after you have married. check individual requirements for supporting documents, country specific.
yes she will have no restrictions on work when she is here. meaning she can work as much as she likes.
