Tier 2 ICT - Duration of stay clarification

Hi,

My Tier 2 ICT was issued first in aug 2011 for 3 years till august 2014, and since been renewed for 2 more years till 31 July 2016.

My first visit to UK was in Aug 2011 for 6 months and I returned to India on 1/2/2012 and worked there.

I have returned to work in UK only on 25/2/2014 and now continuously working here till date.

Please clarify whether the maximum duration of stay in my case?

Will I be allowed to stay 5 years from Feb 2014 (till feb 2019)?
If the answer to above question is yes, whether my current resident permit can be applied for extension?

The 5 year duration of Tier ICT - is it the validity of the Visa or the duration of stay.

Please clarify with relevant interpretations of the law.

When you returned to UK, was it on a new ICT visa OR you used the old one itself on which you were initially in UK? You were out of UK for around 2 years. Were you still paid your UK salary or paid in India? Two years is a long absence on a T2 ICT and if you moved back to India, ideally your sponsor should have notified the home office.
