Few Questions about Leave to remain as a partner 5 yr route

Hello there,

If anybody could help me out to figure following few questions about Leave to remain as a partner 5 yr route, would be most appriciated.

First of all i am already on Leave to remain as a partner 10 year route i've seen in the post that I'll be able to switch to 5 year route but has to meet their eligibility , suitabillity and etc.
My renewal is coming up in 6 months time, it's good to know what to expect

So my questions are

1. Does financial requirement and adequate maintainance both required for leave to remain ?. or just one or the other ?
2. I'm living in rented 1 bed room flat with my 3 year old son and 8 months old baby and my partner, (Please note my partner and my kids are British) I'm not sure i'm overcrowding or will not meeting adequate accomodation requirement.
Also we're planning to buy our own house in the future. Can somebody give me some advise on this ?.
3. I'm on 31K per annum and my partner doesnt work at the moment. is that ok ?
3. How long before can i renew my visa ?


If anybody can shed some lights on this, would be most appriciated.
