Benfits

Post by wisdomreasarch » Wed Mar 04, 2015 11:26 am

Hi,

I am an Australian national holding a Residence Card of a Family Member of an EEA National. My wife is Irish, she is working in the UK. We have two children 5 & 3. I worked for a company for 10 years in Ireland, recently (November 2014) transferred to UK to work for the same company. I will be made redundant in June 2015.

Will I be entitled to Job Seekers Allowance or is my period of residence/contributions insufficient to qualify? Is my wife (are we) entitled to any benefits for the period while I am seeking work?

A general nod in the direction of some relevant guidance/resources would be much appreciated! I'm not familiar with the various rules/regs/bodies over here as I had no plans to be out of work here, so this is new territory for us.

Kind regards
