HSMP querie-odd situation

Post by quincey121 » Sun Sep 23, 2007 2:19 pm

I am applying for my HSMP visa as I qualify with 75 point requirement. I am getting legal involvement to ensure all evidence corroborates my claim. My question is as follows and is a bit peculiar in nature. A year and 1/2 ago, I faced some issues with UK immigration. They found resumes on me and detained me for numerous hours. They wrongly assumed that I was not returning to Canada which was false as I had a return plane ticket for 2 months down the road as well as paid for apartment in Canada. I thus voluntarily went back to Canada and thus the case was not explored. I have since been back to the UK under a tourist visa which already required that I explain this incident. My question becomes will this past incident have baring on this case even though I have been back to the UK since? Will this affect HSMP visa being granted and furthermore will it jeopardize entry clearance? I know that this is a bit of an odd scenario so hopefully someone can shed light and help assuage my apprehensions.

thanks,
JJ

What do you mean by "

In any case, whats important is that you successfully obtained a tourist visa post event. More than anyone, you already know what questions to expect when this event is raised. Most likely you will be asked about it again and based on the authorised tourist visa, I wouldn't even lose my sleep about it if I were you. In my opinion, you are ok!

Thanks a ton. I needed that vote of reassurance. I just do not want to file and risk being penalized for this event even though I have since been back as a tourist in the UK.
