72. If the student does not have an established presence studying in the United Kingdom, you must show that you have money for your living costs for each month of the student’s course up, to a maximum of 9 months.
73. A student with an established presence studying in the United Kingdom must show that they have money for their living costs for each month of their course up, to a maximum of 2 months.

• Studying in inner London for the majority of his/her study must have £1000 per month;
• Studying in outer London or anywhere else in the United Kingdom for the majority of his/her study must have £800 per month.

A student relying on money held by his/her parents(s)/legal guardian must show that he/she is related to his/her parent(s)/legal guardian by providing an original legal document or a notarised copy of one of the following documents:
 The student’s birth certificate showing names of his/her parent(s);
 The student’s certificate of adoption showing names of both parent(s) or legal guardian;
 A Court document naming the legal guardian of the student.
You must also show that your parent(s)/legal guardian has given their permission for you to use this money by providing:
 A letter from his/her parent(s) or legal guardian.
The letter must confirm:
 The relationship between the student and his/her parent(s) or legal guardian; and
 That the parent(s) or legal guardian have given their consent to the student using • their funds to study in the UK.

Note that property, shares, bonds pension funds, life insurance or similar savings accounts are not acceptable. This applies to your own and your parents accounts.

Funds held in a joint account with your name as an account holder are fine. Funds just in your fathers name are not fine for tier 4 dependent.

Tier 4 Dependent Visa Enquiry

Post by foxtrot1234 » Tue Mar 10, 2015 12:51 pm

Hi everyone,

Please I need your help, i want to make enquiry about switching from tier 4 visa to tier 4 dependent visa on behalf of my brother. My younger brother is in public funded college (Highly Trusted Sponsor ) on 2 years course (HNC & HND) and the visa valid till 24/08/16 and his wife is in different college (Public funded & HTS) on one year tier 4 visa valid till 18/08/2015. is it possible for his wife to switching from tier 4 visa to tier 4 dependent visa when she finishes her HNC course this year so that she can depend on him in the remaining tier 4 visa period in uk which is more than 12months after she finishes her one year course.

please prompt reply will be much more helpful.

Thanks.

In that case your brother's wife cannot apply as a dependent because students who are not government sponsored can only bring dependants if they are studying on a post graduate level course of at least 12 months duration at a publicly funded HEI/recognised body.
